About The Position

Clio is seeking a Software Developer to join their front-end teams and rapidly growing engineering team. This role is for someone passionate about building innovative solutions and being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact. The role is available to candidates local to Burnaby or Calgary, with an expectation to be in the office a minimum of twice per week on Anchor Days. As a Software Engineer on the Design Systems team, you will build reusable front-end components that power a consistent, accessible, and scalable user experience across all of Clio’s products. On the Front-End Infrastructure team, you will support engineering teams and work across a constantly evolving landscape. By shaping the company-wide component library with technologies like HTML, CSS, Tailwind, and Web Components, you will help deliver a cohesive interface that supports Clio’s mission to transform the legal experience for all. A typical day involves working with a team of developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions, working in an agile environment with full stack developers across various projects, using a wide variety of technologies, learning new things, and challenging yourself. You will participate in diverse projects and collaborate with multiple engineering teams across three countries, and review and provide feedback on peer's code.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development, specifically with building web applications at scale and Ruby on Rails.
  • The ability to master new technologies quickly and work effectively in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment that includes distributed teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, particularly using an Agile process and with large scale SaaS products.
  • Experience working with large-scale systems.
  • A diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.
  • A portfolio of successful projects (as well as a collection of lessons learned from failed projects).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with fellow Clions and customers.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.
