About The Position

We have a job opening for a Senior ETL Software Developer for our direct client, the Province of Ontario, within the Land & Resources Cluster. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite in Toronto, Ontario, and 2 days remote, with an initial duration of 8 months plus potential extensions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data warehousing design and development.
• Experience with extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience designing, building, automating, and optimizing complex data ETL/ELT processes using PL/SQL and equivalent.
• Experience writing complex procedures, packages, views, and scripts for data de-normalization, extraction, transformation (cleansing), and loading.
• Experience creating data assets from highly normalized Oracle databases and loading them into other DBMS (Microsoft SQL DBs, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Experience with data modeling (relational & dimensional).
• Advanced SQL skills (PL/SQL, TSQL).
• Experience with query optimization, data replication, and administration.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Unix shell).
• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, Google, AWS).
• Advanced skills and hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in creating Data Factory pipelines for copy activity and custom Azure development.
• Experience with PL/SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading, initial setup, and other ETL management and support.
• Experience with Elasticsearch for search/reporting.
• Working knowledge of issue tracking systems like JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Experience using Git Hub for version control and data model changes.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM Cloud 12c, OEM 11g Grid), Oracle Names Server, Oracle Net Service, Oracle Connection Manager, and Oracle Advanced Security.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Network, Names Server, Data Guard, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB).
• Experience with PL/SQL Programming for database change tracking and data warehousing.
• Experience with data migration and data integration across different platforms.
• Experience with RMAN for data recovery (restore) and refresh of production and Dev/UAT/Test environments to SAN storage.

Responsibilities

• Data warehousing design and development with a focus on extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into star/snowflake schemas.
• Design, build, automate, and optimize complex data ETL/ELT processes using PL/SQL and equivalent.
• Write complex procedures, packages, views, and scripts for data de-normalization, extraction, transformation (cleansing), and loading.
• Create data assets (denormalized) from highly normalized Oracle databases and load them into other DBMS (Microsoft SQL DBs, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Perform data migration and integration across different platforms (Windows to UNIX, Windows to Windows, UNIX to UNIX).
• Manage and support ETL processes, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, failover, and recovery.
• Tune Elasticsearch for performance optimization for search/reporting.
• Use Git Hub for version control and data model changes.
• Perform data recovery (restore) and refresh production and Dev/UAT/Test environments using RMAN to SAN storage.
