About The Position

The Last Mile team focuses on delivering packages from delivery stations to customer doorsteps, innovating with technologies like a globally connected fleet of smart delivery vehicles (both gasoline and electric). Our tech team combines edge IoT technologies (sensors, embedded devices, wearables, robotics), real-time data streams (video, vehicle telematics, location, presence), and machine learning models to create solutions for faster and better deliveries. As a Software Development Engineer on the Smart Delivery Tech team, you will play a key role in developing solutions to access and utilize sensors within our current fleet and help design future delivery vehicles. You will understand the integration from edge computing systems to cloud data analytic platforms, user applications with UX optimization, data processing pipelines with connected devices, and data analytic tooling with big data. Experience developing similar applications at scale, preferably in consumer or industrial verticals, is expected.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
