About The Position

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, messaging, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Oracle Announcements Service is a fully managed, multi-tenant system that delivers operational updates and service-impacting notifications across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. It plays a critical role in cloud reliability and customer transparency by broadcasting real-time alerts about maintenance, outages, and required actions. Built for scale and integrated with OCI Console and Notifications, the service ensures that platform-wide changes are surfaced efficiently across compartments and tenancy scopes. It abstracts the complexity of urgency tagging, event categorization, and cross-platform delivery, making it a key component in how OCI communicates with customers at scale About You You work backward from the user, focusing on creating usable, delightful software that solves real problems. You have solid communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts. You work well with non-engineers and can hold conversations with designers, engineers, and product managers. You are comfortable with ambiguity and have a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable working at all levels of the stack.
