About The Position
This role involves driving the architecture and design of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. The engineer will gather business and functional requirements, translate them into technical specifications for robust and scalable solutions, and serve as a technical lead throughout the entire development lifecycle. This includes scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, and maintenance. The position also requires providing design reviews for other engineers, offering feedback on architecture, design, integration, performance, and scalability, and managing resources across multiple technical projects to ensure alignment with technology and business goals.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation.
- OR Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- One year of experience providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- One year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems or services using Object Oriented Design, distributed programming, and C#, C++, or Java.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and design of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using object-oriented design, distributed programming, Java and C/C++.
- Gather business and functional requirements from external and/or internal customers and end-users.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications to build robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well between a range of complex systems.
- Serve as technical lead throughout the full development lifecycle, end-to-end, from scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery and maintenance.
- Provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability.
- Manage resources on multiple technical projects and ensure schedules, milestones, and priorities are compatible with technology and business goals.
