About The Position

Amazon Aurora is an innovative and rapidly growing area within AWS, focusing on hyper-scale database services in the cloud. The Postgres-compatible edition of Amazon Aurora is built on an active open-source community codebase, offering enterprise-class performance, availability, and durability with the management benefits of RDS. This role is within the Amazon Aurora Open Source Engines team, which is looking for experienced technical experts in relational databases and large-scale storage systems to build and develop significant system software components for cloud-architected database services. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing highly scalable distributed database systems that ensure availability, reliability, and performance. This is a hands-on position involving component development and mentoring other engineers, requiring strong software development, systems design, communication, leadership, and customer focus skills. The team's goal is to be the world's best and fastest database, built by an excellent team, while fostering a fun environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of experience in C++, Rust, Related programming language

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
