About The Position

Amazon Enterprise Security Products is a newly launched group building intelligent, cloud-agnostic security tools using AI-first development practices. This role is not a traditional SDE role but offers a chance to shape the future of security tooling with a small, fast team that ships like a startup and deploys like Amazon. The team builds AI and builds with AI simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • Experience in AI assisted or agentic coding practices

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience building agentic coding processes (Ralph loop, parallelized agentic development, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship AI-powered security products, owning the full lifecycle from architecture through production deployment of large-scale, multi-tiered distributed systems.
  • Leverage agentic AI development practices to accelerate every phase of product development.
  • Engineer end-to-end, full-stack experiences, building across the entire stack with intuitive front-end interfaces, robust back-end services and REST APIs, and intelligent middleware.
  • Deploy on AWS while designing for cloud-agnostic, multi-cloud environments.
  • Design and implement intelligent systems customers interact with, including agentic architectures, conversational interfaces, and automation workflows.
  • Use AI tools and techniques to write, test, review, and ship code faster, multiplying velocity, quality, and creative output.
  • Plan, estimate, and drive delivery, leading implementation planning, effort estimation, and phased rollouts.
  • Prototype rapidly and innovate relentlessly, validating hypotheses with customers and iterating quickly.
  • Partner across disciplines with security researchers, applied scientists, product managers, and UX designers.
  • Own operational excellence, participating in on-call rotations, driving root-cause analysis, and continuously raising the bar on reliability, performance, and security.
  • Elevate the team and self through technical reviews, mentoring teammates, and championing AI-first development practices.
  • Contribute to building the engineering culture of a fast-growing team from the ground floor.
