About The Position

We are seeking a highly accomplished engineering and compliance expert to act as a senior technical authority for a world leader in high-reliability, secure software platforms. In this capacity, you will serve as a primary bridge between complex software development, safety-critical systems, and regulatory agencies. You will evaluate software architectures, review structural code partitions, and lead compliance activities to ensure engineering data satisfies the most stringent global airworthiness standards. This position offers a high-visibility opportunity to impact the certification of systems flying on high-profile military and commercial programs worldwide while working in an elite, technically advanced environment.

Requirements

  • FAA Designated Engineering Representative with a software ticket as either a company or consultant designee.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field backed by a strong overall software engineering background.
  • Mastery of DO-178B/C guidelines with a proven track record of successful compliance findings for airborne systems.
  • Deep experience in low-level software requirements development, structural analysis, and safety-critical software testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate multi-core processor architectures and align systems with contemporary multi-core advisory criteria.
  • Familiarity with high-assurance software platforms, real-time systems, or secure partition architectures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead by technical influence and clearly articulate complex regulatory concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to Common Criteria or related high-level security certification frameworks is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic planning, execution, and substantiation of software compliance frameworks across complex system-level product architectures.
  • Evaluate software development lifecycles, requirements, and designs against safety-critical industry guidelines to eliminate regulatory risks.
  • Analyze architectural design data, structural code coverage, algorithm complexity, and robust partition integrity to ensure system isolation.
  • Author, review, and approve critical regulatory certification deliverables including plans for software aspects of certification and software accomplishment summaries.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering managers, software developers, and program teams to integrate regulatory compliance into early development stages.
  • Act as a primary technical liaison with regulatory specialists, managing external oversight and maintaining strong institutional relationships.
  • Coordinate system testing and compliance audits across multiple projects, providing expert engineering direction to support on-site and remote program milestones.
