About The Position

This role involves building and maintaining Python Lambda microservices for data movement across isolated network fabrics, utilizing event-driven AWS services. The engineer will develop and deploy AWS cloud architectures using CDK (TypeScript) for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and cross-fabric/cross-account deployments, emphasizing secure CDK constructs and least-privilege design. Responsibilities also include developing serverless cross-domain architectures and XML schema definition files for integration with Diode Messaging, and implementing observability solutions such as CloudWatch dashboards, synthetics canaries, telemetry tracing, and alerting.

Requirements

• Python and AWS Lambda
• AWS in general - AWS Solutions Architect Associate level of knowledge
• Decoupled / event-driven architectures (e.g. EventBridge, SNS, SQS, ElastiCache)
• Networking: VPCs, subnets, VPC endpoints, security groups
• Security and secure architecture design (secure CDK constructs, IAM policies, least privilege)
• Infrastructure as Code with AWS CDK (TypeScript)
• Observability: CloudWatch dashboards, synthetics canaries, telemetry/tracing, alerting
• CI/CD pipelines and deployments through GitLab
• Cross-fabric deployments
• Willing to access isolated networks multiple times per week

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python Lambda microservices that move data across isolated network fabrics, using loosely coupled, event-driven AWS services.
• Develop and deploy AWS cloud architectures through CDK (TypeScript) IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-fabric/cross-account deployments, with a focus on secure CDK constructs and least-privilege design.
• Develop flexible serverless cross-domain architectures and XML schema definition files built for integration with Diode Messaging.
• Build out observability across services: CloudWatch dashboards, synthetics canaries, telemetry tracing, and alerting.
