The subteam provides engineering, lifecycle management, and technical support for ground-based aviation weather sensors and information display platforms, including AWOS, LLWAS, and ACE-IDS systems. Its work helps ensure air traffic controllers and pilots receive accurate, real-time meteorological data for safe flight operations. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have resided in the United States for three consecutive years, and possess a Real ID driver’s license/ID or current U.S. passport to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain FAA Public Trust clearance. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the MMAC or be willing to relocate there. Non-U.S. degrees must be accompanied by a U.S. equivalency certificate at the time of application. The position requires an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related IT field and 6–9 years of related work experience. Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desired. The role responds to airport-site requests to change ASOS configurations, gathers site and technical information, prepares Requests for Change, and coordinates review, approval, and implementation across agencies. It also develops organizational tools for tracking concurrent site requests, monitors field setups for siting-standard violations, and coordinates corrective action. The work takes place in a cubicle environment on a standard flexible work schedule, with travel under 10%. ASRC Federal offers competitive pay and benefits. Benefits may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k), education assistance, and paid time off, including PTO, holidays, and other leave required by law.
