About The Position

This position serves as a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), providing specialized professional and technical advisory services across all aspects of Software Asset Management, including the maintenance of information for software procurements, contracts, asset entitlements, assignments, and usage. In this role, you will perform analysis and evaluation of supported agency software requests and of agency software needs, including verification of license compliance. In addition, you will participate in the analytical functions required to adapt, configure, or develop application configurations within various SAM components to develop automation of SAM functions. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or a directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in client services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance optimization and support of software deployment and license compliance for enterprise-level environments and new hardware implementations.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in IT contract management and software licensing management, with ability to analyze, interpret and ensure compliance with complex software agreements asset entitlements, procurements, assignments, and usage, including participation in auditing and compliance verification activities.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of professional experience with Windows Server or Desktop Operating Systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance optimization and support of software deployment and license compliance for enterprise-level environments and new hardware implementation.

  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients and others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information clearly and precisely to diverse audiences, including business users, development teams, and agency executives.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), providing specialized professional and technical advisory services across all aspects of Software Asset Management, including the maintenance of information for software procurements, contracts, asset entitlements, assignments, and usage.
  • Performs analysis and evaluation of supported agency software requests and of agency software needs, including verification of license compliance.
  • Participates in the analytical functions required to adapt, configure, or develop application configurations within various SAM components to develop automation of SAM functions.
  • Provides guidance to lower-level professionals engaged in Client Service activities to assist them in determining appropriate Information Technology Software resources, and in recognizing errors and identifying possible solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
