About The Position

The Forma Data Delivery group in Autodesk is looking for an experienced software architect to join its developer team, to play an essential role in technical leadership while building world-class software products in the construction industry. We are looking for someone who possesses strong technical expertise, great leadership and communication skills, as well as proficiency in architecting cloud-based solutions with a knack for scalability, resiliency, and security aspects. This position requires working across multiple teams in the group as well as the wider organization within Autodesk. You will be a part of an agile group of talented and self-motivated individuals building highly scalable, secure, and distributed services in the customer-facing analytics and data visualization space. You will work in a global team and collaborate with remote colleagues from various disciplines like design, product, engineering, and support. You will work with latest technologies in a flexible environment.

Requirements

8+ years software development experience
Technical leadership role for the past 4+ years
Self-motivated, autonomous, empathetic and great communication skills
Broad knowledge of software architecture concepts
Deep experience in designing, developing, and shipping scalable, resilient, distributed applications in the cloud
Advanced proficiency of data architecture, data modeling and data storage technologies
Good proficiency in observability at scale: monitoring, log aggregation, distributed tracing
Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with different kinds of audiences, ranging from developers & product managers

Nice To Haves

Deep knowledge and experience in AWS infrastructure, services and tools
Event-driven systems and message queues
Security knowledge and a good understanding of the common security pitfalls in a SaaS environment and how to mitigate
SOC2 and FedRAMP compliance knowledge
Monitoring solutions (Dynatrace, New Relic, DataDog, BugSnag, etc)
Hands-on experience with backend software development technologies and frameworks
Demonstration of high levels of ownership and accountability
Experience with API architecture and management
Attention to details
Ability to work in a global and distributed environment

Responsibilities

Architect and design highly scalable, robust and fault tolerant systems, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the services
Proactively and continuously evaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systems
Provide technical leadership within the organization by creating and reviewing high-quality architecture designs, providing technical solutions and leading technical discussions
Take an active part in the global architect forum by representing our group, leading cross-org initiatives and communicating decisions and action-items to the relevant stakeholders
Work closely with different stakeholders: fellow architects, product owners, engineering managers, and developers
Be a role model for applying software development best practices
Be a champion and advocate for our platform and services to deliver solutions to other teams and products
