About The Position

The Software Architect will apply technical leadership and architecture expertise to shape the future of national security SATCOM. This role involves understanding complex mission environments, evolving requirements, and how software must integrate across ground, space, and cyber domains. The architect will translate user needs into technical architectures, interface definitions, and DevSecOps-aligned solutions to deliver resilient SATCOM capabilities. The position supports the U.S. Space Force in building and modernizing mission-critical systems for global communications and decision superiority. Responsibilities include designing software architectures using model-based engineering, defining open-system interfaces, driving modernization strategies, and guiding development teams toward secure, scalable solutions. The role also involves leading architecture reviews, evaluating technology options, creating digital engineering artifacts, and delivering recommendations to government decision-makers. Collaboration with software developers, cyber engineers, SATCOM operators, systems engineers, and acquisition leads is essential to ensure architecture alignment with mission needs and integration with the broader SATCOM enterprise. Application of Zero Trust principles, support for RMF activities, and ensuring cyber resilience are also key aspects of the role. Booz Allen offers opportunities for expertise growth through hands-on mission support, access to emerging technologies, continuous learning, and pursuit of certifications.
