About The Position

Wesco Distribution, Inc. seeks a Software Architect - Development in Pittsburgh, PA responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and managing software and data programs. This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position within the United States, but the employee must live within commuting distance of the office in Pittsburgh, PA.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
5 years of experience in a lead development and architect role supporting data engineering processes.
5 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DataStage, Oracle PL/SQL, or SQL Server stored procedures), SQL, and Data Bases.
5 years of data modeling experience for analytical models.
Experience with business intelligence tools (OBIEE, Oracle BI Publisher, Incorta or QuickSight).
Experience with developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using each of the following: ETL/ELT processes using Informatica PowerCenter, SQL, and RDBMS (including Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata).
Experience with using problem solving and analytical skills to translate business requirements into technical specs in order to deliver robust data engineering solutions.
Experience with orchestration tools – Apache Airflow.

Responsibilities

Identifying and developing areas for modification in existing programs, as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
Collaborating with business partners and other technical teams across the organization to deliver proposed solutions.
Managing the evaluation, identification, development, and implementation of software solutions.
Defining, documenting and recording designs and modifications of application or software.
Identifying and resolving failures within existing and newly developed software systems and programs.
Designing data models for the enterprise to support analytical and transactional use cases.
Designing real-time and batch system interfaces and data enrichment pipelines in a cloud-native data ecosystem.
Guiding development teams through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) and providing customer technical support solution analysis and design, and balancing technical and business aspects.
Troubleshooting production issues of all levels and severities, tracking progress from identification through resolution and ensuring best practices are followed.
Working with IT leadership and business partners to design features for the cloud platform.
