About The Position

ISHPI is seeking a Senior Software/Applications Developer to support Command and Control (C2) Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, Virginia. The role manages supported C5ISC systems and provides services including system, software, hardware, network, test, and electronic engineering, as well as technical writing.

Requirements

Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
At least eight years of application development experience using programming languages such as Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, .NET, and Java.
Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent certification.
Active DoD security clearance.
U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software using multiple development methodologies, including Agile.
Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
Research, test, build, and coordinate conversion or integration of new products based on client requirements.
Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Address systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform issues.
Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
Perform feasibility analyses of potential future projects for management.
Assist in evaluating and recommending application software packages and application integration and testing tools.
Resolve software problems and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Act as task leader on projects.
Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.
Participate in developing software user manuals.
