About The Position

Want hands-on experience testing the systems that power a national real estate lending company? As an SSQ Intern at Lima One Capital, you'll join the Product and Project Management Office (PMO) to help validate data and feature functionality during a major enterprise system migration. You'll write and run test cases, verify data integrity across upstream and downstream systems, and support key launch activities like user acceptance testing and cutover validation. You'll also get to investigate real issues through root cause analysis, using techniques like user shadowing and stakeholder interviews. It's a great opportunity to build practical skills in quality assurance, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to a project with real, visible impact.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing degree (or minor / concentration) in information systems, computer science, business analytics, data science, product or project management, systems engineering, finance, or a related field
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to read nonverbal cues
Strong written communication: able to document a defect, a decision, or a risk clearly enough that someone who was not in the room can act on it.
Strong verbal communication and comfort initiating conversations across departments, including subject matter experts and senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work productively on an iterative team where priorities are reassessed as new information arrives.
Analytical rigor and curiosity: a habit of asking "why" more than once and testing assumptions against evidence.
Attention to detail sufficient to spot data discrepancies between systems.

Responsibilities

Write test cases and form testable hypotheses focused on data quality and software functionality.
Plan and build tests of software and system quality; execute test runs and record results.
Validate system configurations and verify data inputs and outputs.
Support release-readiness and cutover checklists, and perform post-release validation.
Measure test effort and return on investment to help the team invest testing time where it pays off.
Triage bugs, defects, and feature gaps into the appropriate channels for resolution.
Distinguish software issues from user error and user knowledge gaps.
Iterate on open problems through repeated interviews with and shadowing of stakeholders.
Initiate informal and formal conversations with stakeholders to elicit user needs and feedback.
Participate in cross-team stand-ups and discovery sessions with process and system owners across origination, customer portals, CRM integrations, data, reporting, and servicing.
Identify opportunities, problems, and areas of untapped value potential across the system.
Document key findings, decisions, risks, and lessons learned from the system and software deployment process, to a standard that holds up under audit and supports knowledge transfer after the internship ends.
Handle confidential borrower, loan, employee, and company information strictly in accordance with Lima One's information security, privacy, and data-handling policies.
