As a member of a Vital Software Engineering team of support Ground Transportation Systems Canada, the successful candidate will work under the directives of a senior software engineer in order to analyze, develop software, automation and testing against the infrastructure available in our organization. Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Computer/Systems Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Fluent in English both in written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work full time hours (40 hours) with the start date and the agreed work term

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of software development
  • In-depth knowledge of Python, C/C++, Shell scripting, Jason and Groovy
  • DevOps Software environment experience
  • Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, Artefactory, Maven
  • Good organizational abilities
  • Able to quickly integrate with the team and work independently

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows the company’s processes and procedures for developing vital software for safety critical railways systems
  • Assist with software development and algorithm implementations for safety critical systems
  • Develop software tools and scripts that will enhance the actual CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) by migrating the actual solution to the generic GTS CI/CD pipeline solution
  • Develop fitness testing (Python, C, wiki) in the context of the CI/CD for the safety critical software based on software requirements
  • Document the software solution under wiki
  • Elaborate metrics and dashboard used to report to management
