About The Position

This position is for a skilled veterinary technician in Small Animal Soft Tissue and Minimally Invasive Surgery, joining a busy team that assists cats and dogs with various issues requiring surgical or minimally invasive intervention. The role involves assisting with appointments, small procedures under sedation and anesthesia in both sterile and aseptic conditions, and diagnostic workups including digital radiography, ultrasound, and CT. The primary focus is on evaluation and recheck appointments, inpatient care, and coordination of diagnostics and surgical planning, rather than operating room duties. Team members collaborate closely with boarded veterinary surgeons, residents/interns, and veterinary students within a fast-paced teaching and learning environment. This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. Promotional opportunities to a level II title are available upon achieving appropriate certifications, and the position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience (for Veterinary Technician I)
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience (for Veterinary Technician I)
  • Credentialed veterinary technician (for Veterinary Technician II)
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, pull, push, twist and stand for an extended period of time
