About The Position

Metro Therapy, Inc., a Powerback Pediatrics company, serves the educational and developmental needs of pediatric populations throughout Long Island and New York City’s five boroughs. The Social Worker implements strategies aligned with each child’s IFSP to support social-emotional development, behavior change, and parent and caregiver training. The role teaches play, early learning foundational, and adaptive skills; coaches and educates parents and caregivers; and collaborates with service coordinators and the child’s therapy and educational teams to coordinate care. The Social Worker maintains timely, compliant documentation in accordance with Early Intervention guidelines and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• LMSW or LCSW certification.
• At least one year of experience in Early Intervention, pediatrics, or working with individuals with developmental delays.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies aligned with each child’s IFSP to support social-emotional development, behavior change, and parent and caregiver training.
• Teach play skills, early learning foundational skills, and adaptive skills.
• Provide parent and caregiver coaching and education.
• Collaborate with service coordinators and other members of the child’s therapy and educational teams to ensure coordination of care.
• Maintain timely and compliant documentation in accordance with Early Intervention guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
