About The Position

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital is hiring a Social Worker for PRN weekday shifts. Located in Fort Washington, PA, Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Philadelphia area for over 40 years. Our 146-bed facility offers a peaceful setting for individuals seeking treatment for mental illness. We provide unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults. The Social Worker PRN performs social services functions, including assisting patients with their biopsychosocial assessment needs to achieve optimal emotional health. This involves providing basic consultations, teaching, and specialized clinical social work services. Responsibilities also include crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy, facilitating interagency meetings, treatment planning, discharge planning, and providing referral information.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric health care facility or equivalent.
  • Direct experience in individual, family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successful completion of CPR/AED training.
  • Successful completion of Crisis Prevention (CPI) training including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures including restraint and seclusion policies within thirty (30) days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
  • May be required necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his or her assigned program.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific need.
