About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Social Worker for the Palliative Care unit located within the Edgewood, Kentucky location. This role provides psychosocial assessments, assists in care planning in coordination with the members of the Palliative Care team, Hospital Staff and Physicians. The Social Worker also provides counseling services to patients/families and demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

MSW from accredited school by the Council on Social Work Education
Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Certified Social Worker willing to participate in active supervision toward achieving LCSW
Knowledge of Palliative Care and the psychosocial issues of terminally ill patients and their families
Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate care well with an interdisciplinary team
Knowledge of Emotional and Mental Disorders and the DSM V diagnoses applicable to palliative care
2 years of social work experience in a medical setting
