Social Worker - Area Services (Xenia, Ohio)
About The Position
This person will be the point person in the distribution of financial support given by The Salvation Army in Xenia, under the direction of the Kroc Center Administrator. They will take phone calls, do assessments, meet with clients and potential clients, keep detailed records, and distribute funds following the guidelines set in place. They will provide excellent service to all who participate in functions held at the Kroc Center. In conjunction, they will keep as a priority, the promoting the Christian faith and values in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.
Requirements
- Understanding of social work
- Strong creative and communication skills
- Administrative skills
- Experience in networking with others
- Self-motivated
- Able to multi-task and meet hard deadlines
Responsibilities
- Provide food support services to the general public
- Provide case management services
- Track and keep current records on clients
- Screen individuals/families for assistance
- Complete all required documentation for case records and maintain these files current
- Provide Kroc Center administration with monthly statistics
- Track dollars spent and remain within budget
- Network with other agencies on assistance available
- Track and report working hours and report on a bi-weekly basis
- Coordinate all Christmas Kettle locations and workers in Xenia area
- Serve as liaison for The Salvation Army with United Way in Greene County
- Assist with all other special events that deal with support given to the community
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Kroc Center Administrators
