About The Position

This position is for a Social Worker in the Children’s and Adolescent Department of the Acadiana Area Human Services District – Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic. The role is responsible for serving the acute and/or chronically mentally ill adult population, the emotionally/behaviorally disturbed child/adolescent population and their families, and clients with addictive disorders/co-occurring disorders. The position offers the opportunity to advance within the Social Worker job series (Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4), with the level determined by the selected candidate's qualifications. This AAHSD site is NHSC approved, and qualifying social workers may be eligible to participate in the Loan Repayment Program.

Requirements

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW).
A master's degree in social work.
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana.
Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Nice To Haves

Experience in working with children and adolescents who have emotional and/or behavioral disorders, including addictive disorders.

Responsibilities

Serving the acute and/or chronically mentally ill adult population.
Serving the emotionally/behaviorally disturbed child/adolescent population and their families.
Serving clients with addictive disorders/co-occurring disorders.
Collaborating with psychiatrists, medical psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff regarding therapeutic interventions, diagnosis, and provision of evidence-based treatments via individual, family, or group therapy for clients indicated as meeting target population criteria.
