About The Position

To engage child/adolescent patients and their families with difficulties in emotions and behaviors by identifying problems, promoting strengths, and addressing weakness. To engage in counseling, education and therapy with children/adolescents and their families. To coordinate care and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team and community resources.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • New Jersey Social Work License required.
  • MSW and LSW, LCSW or equivalent required.
  • Effective group process skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Ability to efficiently document using an Electronic Medical/Health Record in a timely manner.
  • Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Ability to follow-through using appropriate channels of communication.

  • Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.).
  • Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve.

Responsibilities
