About The Position

As the Social Worker, you’ll serve as a part of the multidisciplinary care team, advocating for residents and assessing their psychosocial needs to enhance their well-being. This is a part time position at 30 hours per week. Your comprehensive role will be integral to addressing the psychosocial needs of residents, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a supportive environment. You'll assume multifaceted responsibilities encompassing both team and program leadership, as well as a vital role in health and safety oversight. You will adeptly model the Wellness Model of Care, inspiring your team to follow suit. Leading resident care conferences and facilitating end-of-service planning, you will also provide crucial crisis intervention and debriefing for residents, their loved ones, and team members. In the realm of program leadership, you will offer adjustment counseling, assess eligibility for financial or material assistance, and collaborate with the care team for personalized service plans. Your role extends to resourcefully leading support groups, advocating for legislative programs, and revising policies when needed. You will foster invaluable relationships with residents, team members, and external agencies. Bed matching and continuous quality improvement initiatives fall under your purview, along with maintaining a private pay waitlist. By prioritizing health and safety, you will identify and rectify unsafe situations, ensuring the adoption of secure work practices. Situated on Taylor Way and Inglewood Avenue, our Inglewood community is just moments away from Ambleside Park, Capilano Park, and Capilano River Regional Park.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in social work.
  • Current registration in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW).
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing services to seniors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master of Social Work preferred.
