About The Position

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Worker. The clients of the Entertainment Community Fund are a diverse, dynamic and engaging group of working and retired professionals which include musicians, actors, stage managers, set designers, hair and make-up stylists, costume designers, ushers, and radio hosts, to name a few. The agency is seeking a clinically oriented Social Worker to provide clinical case management, counseling and group services to support professionals in the arts community.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work with state licensure.
  • Strong assessment, intensive clinical case management and advocacy skills.
  • Crisis intervention skills are a must with the ability to engage a wide range of presentations.
  • Organized and able to handle diverse tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Ability to effectively engage and sustain relationships with program participants.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; must have the ability to deal with conflict, build consensus and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and groups
  • Comfortable in a collegial, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a crisis intervention as well as brief treatment model preferred.
  • Experience with the entertainment and performing arts community

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals and families seeking assistance to address a myriad of work/life balance concerns including: emergency financial need, mental health, health, or housing concerns.
  • Using a clinical case management model, develop comprehensive plans to address the presenting concern and collaborate with community resources to provide support.
  • Evaluate and advocate for emergency financial assistance through the Entertainment Community Fund and partner/contract programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to internal and external support services.
  • Lead groups and workshops.
