About The Position

The Social Worker is responsible for the provision of social services consultation in accordance with accepted social work practice and hospital policies and procedures. Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of patients to achieve their optimal level of health. Serves as Patient Representative.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
Licensed social worker in the State of Kansas.
Computer skills
Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and a team player.
Maintain a positive attitude with good energy.
Create a positive, supportive working atmosphere.
Display integrity and accountability.

Nice To Haves

One to two years experience in the social services field preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Medical experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Evaluates social and family information and determines plan for social treatment.
Manages/supervises social services and activity staff.
Establishes and updates policies and procedures for the Social Services Department.
