Indiana University Health’s Child Protection Program (IUCPP), part of the Department of Pediatrics, provides trauma-informed, multidisciplinary consultation for children suspected of maltreatment. Our team includes pediatric child abuse specialists, nurses, social workers, health educators, and support staff committed to delivering expert, compassionate care. Consultations are conducted via phone, review of medical records and photographs, or through direct inpatient and outpatient encounters, depending on the child's needs. Our goal is to support accurate assessment of injuries and determine whether they result from accidental or non-accidental causes. As a Social Worker in this role, you will collaborate effectively with the IUCPP team to provide trauma-informed, timely, and comprehensive care for children and their families. You will interpret complex psychosocial needs, conduct mental health assessments, and facilitate therapeutic interventions. A primary focus is serving as a key liaison with child protective services, law enforcement, and community agencies involved in cases of abuse, neglect, guardianship, foster care, and mental health.
