University Settlement is a prominent social justice institution with a long history as the first settlement house in the nation. For over 135 years, it has served as a vital resource in low-income and immigrant communities, offering a wide range of programs including early childhood education, youth development, eviction prevention, literacy, arts, older adult services, and mental health. The organization impacts over 40,000 New Yorkers annually through its network of 30 sites across Manhattan and Brooklyn. Its mission is to empower residents by leveraging their strengths through comprehensive services, anticipating future needs with innovation, and advocating for community justice. The Wellness Together program specifically aims to enhance the quality of life for homebound older adults by providing case management, virtual group activities, and volunteer services, enabling them to live life to its fullest. This program is part of the agency’s LEARN network, which focuses on longevity through education, arts, recreation, and nutrition for older adults. Social Workers in this role will primarily work in the community, conducting participant home visits and collaborating with partners.
