Inland Northwest Behavioral Health, a collaboration between Universal Health Services and Providence Health Services, is the first free-standing mental health hospital in Spokane, Washington. This 100-bed facility, located near the Sacred Heart Medical Campus, features a dining room, gym, activity rooms, outdoor courtyards, and administrative spaces. Its x-shaped design centralizes staff and separates patient beds into four 25-bed wings, with three units for adults (18+) and one for adolescents (13-17). The hospital aims to provide a "home-like environment" to promote a holistic, patient-centered approach to mental health, integrating architecture, artwork, and landscaping to create a safe, encouraging, and aesthetically pleasing healing space. The Social Worker provides social services to assist patients in meeting psychosocial needs, enabling them to achieve optimal emotional health through therapeutic skills. This includes treatment planning facilitation, psycho-social assessment, psycho-education, short-term supportive family and individual therapy, group therapy, and discharge planning, utilizing evidence-based practice and liaison with community resources.
