About The Position

Overlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Social Worker in our fast past Emergency Department! Social Worker conducts assessments for mental health, substance use disorder, domestic violence, abuse and neglect, and for other psychosocial issues. Provides clinical interventions and coordinates with community providers for appropriate dispositions, which may include voluntary psychiatric admissions, involuntary psychiatric admissions, safety planning, SUD treatment, providing resources and referrals, or other dispositions based on the patient's needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work preferred, or related field from an accredited university required.
  • Candidate must possess one of the following licenses from the state of Washington: Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (SWAIC), Social Work Associate Advanced (SWAA), Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (MFTA), Mental Health Counselor Associate (MHCA), or Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC).
  • Minimum one year of experience preferred.
  • Requires assessment and care planning skills, broad knowledge of the community resources, medical terminology, hospital systems, insurance guidelines, financial issues, and risk management issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and computer skills.
  • An understanding of the issues that are involved in the documentation and continual quality improvement process of patient care in the hospital setting preferred.
  • Master's degree in Social Work preferred, or related field from an accredited university required.
