About The Position

Under the direction of a physician, assists patients and their families in residences or outpatient and inpatient settings to adapt and plan an interdisciplinary approach to treating the patient-family system. Provides direct clinical services and plans and implements social work services on an assigned clinical service or unit in collaboration with the healthcare team. Collaborates with community human service agencies to meet the needs of patients, families, and the hospital.

This PRN position is based at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in the Emergency Department and is scheduled every other Saturday on the day shift, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Social Work department is part of Case Management Services, which provides coverage throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, registration sites, and Health Information Management.

Employees working at an Illinois facility must have an Illinois state social work license or be able to take and pass the Illinois state social work licensing exam within 90 days of their first day of employment.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• No experience is required.
• No supervisor experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Medical social work experience is highly preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience preferred.
• Licensed Master Social Worker certification preferred.
