About The Position

The Social Worker-Therapist position will provide Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to adolescents and transition-age youth with autism and their families as part of a funded clinical trial, supporting intervention delivery, data collection, and participant engagement. This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, two-year grant-funded position. Study-specific Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) training, clinical supervision, and fidelity monitoring preparation will be provided. May work occasional evening hours.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or other mental health practice license under Texas regulations.
  • Training and experience delivering Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
  • Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
  • Demonstrated individual and family therapy skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Values the contributions of others in the work environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering standardized assessments or outcome measures.
  • Experience delivering interventions via telehealth or online platforms.
  • Experience working in clinical research or with structured intervention programs.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and family Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
  • Conduct counseling sessions with adolescents and transition age youth via tele-health platforms by ensuring fidelity and ethical clinical practice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical and research documentation consistent with university, study, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards.
  • Administer standardized assessments and outcome measures as required by the study protocol.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, fidelity monitoring, and interdisciplinary research team meetings.
  • Support participant engagement and retention, including scheduling and communication with study clients.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
