About The Position

This position performs clinical services, including intakes and a variety of therapy programs and techniques such as group, individual, and family therapy, expressive therapy, crisis intervention, psychodrama and modeling. The role involves maintaining and completing service documentation such as psychosocial assessments, case notes, case reviews, court reports, and letters according to prescribed standards. The Social Worker/Therapist will conduct case reviews to determine current and future treatment planning based on quantitative results and professional opinion of client progress. Collaboration with external agents including CHR, school officials, family members, and other health agencies regarding organizational programs and client needs and conditions is essential. The role also includes attending and participating in staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and clinical seminars, providing information relating to program administration and development. Writing correspondence on behalf of clients and their families, such as court reports and letters of recommendation, is also a key responsibility. The Social Worker/Therapist will conduct case presentations and consultations with other agencies regarding programs and services offered. Additionally, the role involves formulating clinical diagnoses for both mental health and substance abuse, and creating clinical treatment plans for interventions. Emergency evaluations of high-risk clients to determine the level of treatment indicated and arranging for hospitalization, as needed, are part of the duties. As needed, the position may assist the supervisor or division director with the development and coordination of clinical programs. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work and licensed as a CSW, or LCSW
  • Understanding of Kentucky’s board of social work laws and regulations regarding clinical practices
  • If Master's in Clinical Mental Health or similar licensure from the appropriate KY Board (ex. LPCA, LPCC, MFTA, LMFT, LPATA, LPAT)
  • Three to six months of related internship or practicum experience.
  • Knowledge of mental and physical characteristics of applicable population (e.g., growth and development and range of treatment needed), psychotherapy, human behavior, and treatment modes
  • Case load with varying levels of client disability and need
  • Knowledge of community resources and SCS services
