Requirements

Valid MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license, LICSW, LCSW, LSW, or LMHC.
Extensive knowledge of child development and age-appropriate social and emotional skills.
Belief that great teaching closes the achievement gap and an unwavering belief in all students’ capabilities.
Professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
Commitment to fostering diversity by cultivating anti-racist practices and removing bias, empowering students with the resources they need to create choice filled lives for themselves and their futures.
Ability to start immediately.

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to individual and small groups of students in the areas of social skills, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc.
Create and implement positive behavioral plans.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure students receive the support they need.
Provide crisis intervention for students which may include risk assessments, safety contracts, and social service interventions.
Meet with parents to discuss student progress and help refer parents to outside resources as needed.
Write and implement IEP goals.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and classroom behavioral observations.
