Performs difficult professional work providing protective social work services to clients in Child Protective Services, In-Home Services, or Permanency Planning (adoption/foster care) units of the Department of Social Services and related work as assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Social Work Supervisor. The Emergency Duty Social Worker’s hours will generally be Monday and Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 3 a.m. but will remain on call until 8 a.m. the next working day. Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. but will remain on call until 8:00 a.m. the next working day. Friday from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., and Sunday from 6 a.m. until 3 a.m. and will remain on call the entire weekend until 8 a.m. on Monday. The Emergency Duty Social Worker will cover duty every other week, working one week and being off the next. During the work week, the Emergency Duty Social Worker will cover anytime the agency is closed within their week on duty.
