About The Position

The Social Worker-MSW at Children's Hospital operates under the guidance of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is an essential part of the physician-directed healthcare team. This role involves the professional application of social work methodology and theory to practice. Key responsibilities include providing support to patients and families impacted by illness, injury, loss, grief, victimization, changes in lifestyle, or other situations that may impede their optimal functioning. The Social Worker-MSW is also responsible for conducting individualized and culturally sensitive comprehensive psychosocial assessments, and subsequently developing and implementing interventions, treatment strategies, and discharge plans based on these assessment findings. The position requires participation in weekend and holiday coverage, as well as on-call rotation when requested. Additionally, the Social Worker-MSW may be asked to provide coverage for other departments, such as pediatrics, adult services, clinics, and the emergency department. Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred for this role.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social work

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years of experience in acute care or clinic setting
  • Able to communicate fluently in Spanish
