About MultiCare Cancer Institute MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, delivering integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive care across Washington state. Each year, we diagnose and treat more than 6,000 new cancer cases across Olympia, Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • LSWAIC, LMHC, LMFT, LASW, LICSW, AAC as required by department. Individuals who have submitted a completed associate license application to the Washington State Department of Health may begin practicing under supervision for up to 120 days while their application is pending.
  • Experience working in a hospital/acute situation or equivalent social service agency, experience relative to the medical social work function
  • Depending on assigned area, BLS Certification may be required

Responsibilities

  • Administer assessment tools and gather data for assessment, and to assess for optional needed services
  • Interview families to determine social work needs of the participant
  • Contact community resources to coordinate services
  • Provide initial and on-going assessment of participant's social, emotional and cognitive status and needs, involving participant and other staff members in the assessment
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained for all assessments, treatment plans, and evaluations
