About The Position

The Therapist will provide quality individual and group therapies, as well as oversee case management services to patients on the Behavioral health unit using professional standards, and according to their licensure and or certification. The therapist will assist in receiving patients, working with families and placement of patients at discharge, as well as coordinating immediate aftercare services. Ability to function with minimum supervision and interface appropriately with health team. Must successfully demonstrate competency in field and work environment on a continuous basis—including age-specific competencies, clinical competencies and organization-wide competencies such as fire, infection control, emergencies, etc.). Performance will be measured and routinely evaluated with clinical administrative staff as required.

Requirements

  • Licensed in Arkansas as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Completed hospital and unit orientation period in order to act as a team leader.
  • Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and interest in professional growth.
  • Readily adaptable to changing physician demands, without deterioration under stress.
  • Have a basic concept of counseling and group therapy.
  • Possess demonstrated knowledge, training and skills necessary and appropriate to the patient-specific population.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a behavioral science discipline (prefer psychology, counseling, or social work background).
  • Experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality individual and group therapies.
  • Oversee case management services to patients on the Behavioral health unit.

  • Coordinate immediate aftercare services.
  • Identify discharge planning needs and obtain and/or coordinate these services.
  • Set priorities and effectively delegate/coordinate interdisciplinary care based on the needs of the patient, census, staffing and unit needs.
