About The Position

Join our transplant team and make a meaningful impact supporting liver donors and inpatient transplant patients. This role involves conducting pre-transplant assessments for potential liver donors, supporting donors during inpatient stays, and assisting with inpatient transplant caseloads as needed. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The CM Services division, which includes Case Management, Utilization Management, and Social Work, aims to ensure all patients have access to healthcare through the BJH continuum and appropriate, safe discharge plans. The Social Work department is open 24 hours/day, providing coverage throughout the hospital.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Employees working at an Illinois facility are required to have an Illinois state social work license or be able to take and pass the Illinois state social work licensing exam within 90 days of the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-transplant assessments for potential liver donors
• Support donors during inpatient stays
• Assist with inpatient transplant caseload as needed
• Provides direct clinical services to patients and families.
• Plans and implements social work services on assigned clinical service or unit in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Collaborates with community human service agencies to meet the needs of patients, families, and the hospital.
