About The Position
The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered, team-based multi-specialty practice located in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable, comprehensive, outpatient medical and dental services for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves the primary health care needs of families in North and Central Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide professional, courteous, and high-quality healthcare with dignity, especially to the underserved population, regardless of their ability to pay. This role involves providing quality, competent, safe, and compassionate care based on established standards in a patient-focused preventative, treatment care, and counseling setting. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the DSM-V, understanding of psychosis, OCD, and Substance Use Disorder Counseling, and be recovery-oriented and trauma-informed, utilizing techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Behavioral Activation. Bilingual Spanish is REQUIRED.
Requirements
- LCSW REQUIRED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED
- Must be able to work onsite and every other Saturday.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
- Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the DSM –V
- Understanding of psychosis, OCD, and Substance Use Disorder Counseling
- Recovery oriented and trauma informed.
- Experience/An understanding of eClinical Works is helpful.
Responsibilities

- Foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and with clients.
