About The Position

The Social Worker-LCSW provides assistance to patients and their families in the forms of diagnostic evaluation; individual, family & group therapeutic counseling; and resource referral. Provides supervision to Clinical MSW staff registered with the Board of Behavioral Science. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work required.
• Minimum two years of experience in clinical setting.
• Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
• Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment; type 30 words per minute without errors.
• Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership and supervision; follow policies consistently; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
• Able to positively and effectively manage complex interpersonal relations with patients and staff.
• Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently and with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
• Works independently without direct supervision.
• Requires adequate visual, hearing and tactile acuity to proficiently perform essential duties.
• Requires ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
• Current LCSW licensure required.
• Valid driver’s license required at time of hire if assigned to the following cost centers/departments: 34617/AMB: Dialysis Peritoneal OP-LLUMC.

Nice To Haves

• Previous counseling experience preferred.
