About The Position

The LCSW social worker provides direct Social Work services to patients and families coping with acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling/clinical therapy aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement in order to support the family's effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work.
• Current Texas License for LCSW.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Health Care Providers within 30 days of employment.
• If physically unable to complete BLS for Health Care Providers, then the employee will have the option of attending a Heart Saver program on campus or attending an outside course using a non-computerized mannequin.
• Maintain your primary residence within the state of Texas.
• Maintain all licenses and credentials required for your position throughout your employment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior experience working with children and families.
