About The Position

Performs difficult professional work in the support and assistance of agency clients with personal, social, and economic needs. This role involves performing case management and foster care services to children and families referred for child protective services. Key duties include assessing needs, developing service and intervention plans, managing cases, and maintaining records and files. The position also involves preparing reports, making referrals for adoption, foster care, recruitment and selection of foster homes, and child protective services. Additionally, the role requires making home visits, assessing risk, arranging placements, and preparing for and attending court hearings and conferences on behalf of clients. The Social Worker III will also serve on-call on a rotating basis and perform related tasks as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Social Work Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems.
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide range of medical, behavioral, and/or psychosocial and socioeconomic problems and their treatment theory.
  • Thorough knowledge of individual and group behavior dynamics.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Ability to understand and interpret laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with clients, associates, social agencies and the general public.
  • Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work OR Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare Positions only) OR Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited school of social work and one (1) year directly related experience OR Master’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited college or university and one (1) year of directly related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited college or university and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited college or university and three (3) years of directly related experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver license.
  • COPIES of College transcripts must be submitted with County of Moore Employment Application.
