This position is located in the Children's Services Section. The social worker serves as a neutral facilitator for child and family team meetings, promoting communication between agency staff, families, their support persons, and service providers. The role involves introducing meeting goals, guiding discussions on family strengths and needs, steering participants toward consensus on recommendations, and ensuring participants leave with a written summary. The meetings focus on assessing safety resources, identifying alternatives to out-of-home placement, identifying and assessing progress on services, developing family service agreements, and determining if child removal is necessary for safety. Meetings are held at the agency and offsite locations. The social worker is responsible for scheduling meetings, preparing meeting locations, preparing summaries, and preparing monthly reports on meeting statistics. While not regularly managing cases, this social worker may assist with case management duties as needed.
