About The Position

To provide direct clinical services necessary for the management and treatment of persons with mental health issues. To participate as a member of an academic setting multidisciplinary team serving a generally commercial population.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of both psychiatric and substance abuse principles and skills regarding diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ability to provide individual, group and family psychotherapy.
  • Ability to function in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Sociocultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies.
  • Education and/or experience in outpatient interventions in an outpatient mental health setting.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other Mental Health related field.
  • Minimum 3000 post-graduate supervised hours and experience in an outpatient setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
  • Certification in Alcohol and other Drug Abuse (AODA), Screening and Brief Intervention and Referral (SBIRT), and LCSW licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services within a State of Wisconsin certified outpatient mental health and AODA outpatient clinic including individual, family or group psychotherapy for a caseload of adults with a diverse range of mental health issues.
  • Triage of emergent situations, phone conversations, on-call responsibilities, and the ability to negotiate healthcare and social service systems.
  • Complete intake assessments and develop appropriate service plans.
  • Document in an electronical medical record (EPIC) as needed.
  • Interface with clinical faculty and staff to include MD’s, residents, therapists, nurses, interns and support staff.
  • Provide diagnostic consultation; maintain and participate in Quality Assurance activities.
  • Documentation requirements for all services provided and participate in clinical supervision/consultation in compliance with all county, state and federal rules.
  • Duties as assigned.
