About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), the social worker will provide counseling and case management services to the families of children ages 0 – 4 who are referred by the Infants and Toddlers service coordinator at each location. These children have been identified as having some type of disability that qualifies them for these services.

Requirements

Possession of a master's degree in social work from a college or university approved by the Council of Social Work Education
Two years' experience rendering professional social work services
Possession of a license, issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners, as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) is required at the time of application.
Some positions require possession of a LCSW-Clinical license issued by the Maryland Board of Social Workers at the time of application.
Possession of a valid license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license may be required for some positions at the time of appointment.
Employees must maintain licenses and certifications throughout the course of their employment.
Some positions in this classification may be required to respond to emergency situations and work overtime with little or no notice.
Some positions in this classification require completion of an approved training program, and must pass a competency test by the second training available after appointment to this classification.
Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.

Nice To Haves

Education beyond a master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of social work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of one year for the required experience.

Responsibilities

Counseling and case management of families referred by the Infant & Toddler program
Psychotherapy, if indicated
Crisis intervention
Provide families with resources, support and referrals
Home visits
Group counseling for parents
Consultation & collaboration with Infants & Toddlers staff
Attend Team Meetings and any other I & T meetings
Consultation & collaboration with community providers
Referrals and linkages to community resources
Maintain case records and data on each client
Complete monthly reports
Participate in supervision
Attend unit meetings, division meetings and HHS meetings
Continuing education to maintain licensure
Emergency operations as needed under direction of Baltimore County or State Emergency Operations Centers
Makes home visits and evaluates living/environmental conditions.
Transports patients/clients.
Assists sick or injured until medical personnel arrive at the scene.
Attends training and seminars.
Performs other related duties as required.
