Social Worker II – CPS Support Worker
About The Position
Catawba County Social Services is seeking a committed and compassionate CPS Support Worker to join our CPS team. In this critical role, you will support the mandated efforts to protect children and support families facing challenging circumstances. CPS Support Workers provide support during CPS Assessments and In-Home services by interviewing collateral contacts and conducting thorough research and summary of relevant records, which help assigned social workers assess safety, risk, and permanence. Trainees, those with a Bachelor’s degree in other areas of human services, but do not have the required experience, may be considered. Trainee salary is $48,913.89.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work; OR Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and 1 year of social work experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field and 2 years of social work experience
- A valid Driver’s license with a safe driving record (Driving is an essential function of this position)
Nice To Haves
- Direct social work experience in child welfare services or similar experiences
- Experience in interviewing others
- Experience in reviewing and summarizing various types of records
- Applicants with bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supportive services to CPS social workers by interviewing collaterals via phone
- Completing research of CPS history in various databases
- Summarizing CPS history on all cases
- Requesting and summarizing records such as law enforcement and emergency services
- Completing research of records in eCourts
