About The Position

This position provides advanced level casework, counseling, and goal-oriented services to adults experiencing multiple functional impairments in daily living activities, cognitive/physical impairment, or an illness that jeopardizes their independence and control over the quality of their lives. The role combines In-Home Aide and Respite Case Management, SA In-Home, and Payee/At-Risk services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years directly related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid North Carolina driver license required.
  • DD 214 required from applicants claiming a military preference.

  • Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral problems and their treatment.
  • Knowledge of governmental and private organizations and community resources.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program.
  • General knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and their treatment is required in certain programs or settings.
  • Skill in establishing rapport with a client and applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client's problem.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to train or instruct lower-level social workers, students, or interns.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced level casework, counseling, and goal-oriented services to adults with functional impairments.
  • Offer In-Home Aide and Respite Case Management services.
  • Provide SA In-Home and Payee/At-Risk services.
  • Apply social work principles, techniques, and practices to casework, group work, and community problems.
  • Address psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral problems and their treatment.
  • Connect clients with governmental and private organizations and community resources.
  • Apply knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing the program.
  • Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as required.
  • Establish rapport with clients and apply techniques for assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client problems.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with administrative superiors, clients and their families, and civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.
  • Train or instruct lower-level social workers, students, or interns.
  • Express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Plan and execute work effectively.
