This position provides competent, quality Social Work services to patients and their families, functioning as an independent practitioner. The role requires working under stressful conditions, demonstrating assertiveness, and collaborating effectively with others. Clinically, the position involves performing quality assessments, understanding family systems, utilizing effective communication techniques, and maintaining flexibility in job responsibilities. The Social Worker will provide thorough clinical assessments using a biopsychosocial model, communicate patient needs with team members, and offer professional social work assistance related to illness, hospitalization, and other identified issues. This includes documenting barriers to compliance, patient/family understanding of conditions, emotional needs, and community/family resources, as well as devising and implementing therapeutic interventions and plans. The role also involves documenting reassessments, transitioning cases appropriately, updating documentation when plans change, maintaining a 70% direct patient contact ratio, providing continuity of care, actively participating in problem-solving, and seeking opportunities to improve social determinants of care. The position is designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a current user of medical marijuana. Arkansas Children's is a tobacco-free workplace, and flu vaccines are required.
